That's the question asked most often during our mushroom foraging events. We offer opportunities to learn about what's up in the woods for both the kitchen table and mushroom dye pots, if that's your interest. You will be taught to forage in the woods on our mushroom walks and hikes how to learn to identify fungi finds including maybe porcini, black trumpets,  golden chanterelles, hedgehogs, candy caps, matsutake, "dyers' mushrooms", and also many lesser known,  but safe and tasty, edibles too. We teach berry and some plant foraging too. If you'd like to hone your cooking skills you can also learn the best methods for cooking wild mushrooms!

These wild mushroom events will be offered throughout the mushroom season in the San Franicsco Bay Area counties and in the Sierra Nevada, and beyond. We also offer private forays and wild mushroom dinners.
